Fundraise
Fundraising and public support is the backbone of our organisation. Without the generosity of the public we cannot survive, as we receive no State Funding or Funds from any Healthcare Groups.
In line with the Charities Regulator guidelines, all fundraising events conducted on behalf of Rathdrum Cancer Support Group (RCSG) must be approved by the committee prior to commencement and follow the Charities Regulator code of practice.
RCSG will issue Event Hosts with a permit card or certificate prior to commencement.
Prior to organising a fundraising event on our behalf, you must be 18 years of age or over. If under 18 you must present permission from a parent or guardian to RCSG.
RCSG, are happy to offer support, assistance and advice when co-coordinating your proposed event. However, the overall running of an event, including insurance, expenses, record keeping and management is the responsibility of the fundraisers.
To comply with auditor requirements and to preserve integrity of the event organiser, it is required that at least two people oversee an event and be present at the counting and remittance of the proceeds.
We also require that any proceeds raised on behalf of RCSG be remitted as soon as possible after a fundraising event or within a maximum of 30 days.
The community of Rathdrum have been very creative with many forms of fundraising throughout the years. Here is a selection of events that have brought in much needed funds to enable the group to offer helpful services and assistance to patients and their families.
Since 1995 our community and exceptional fundraisers have:
- Broken world records
- Rowed across the Atlantic ocean
- Cycled from Mizen Head to Malin Head
- Ran thousands of miles, and walked even further
- Dusted off their vintage cars
- Donated hampers and other prizes
- Shaved heads and bodies
- Donated pocket money
- Made donations after loved ones passed away
- Placed their trust in our team!
